Kava is a small shrub native to the South Pacific Islands that has been used in social rituals, religious ceremonies, and for medicinal purposes for thousands of years. The root and stems of the kava-kava plant are brewed into a non-alcoholic, psychoactive beverage. When consumed, the effects of kava are psychological and physiological relaxation.
Kava has been known to induce a sense of calm and euphoria, reduce stress, and relieve muscle tension. Additional benefits include calming the mind and body, reducing stress, and helping you sleep better. Unlike alcohol, kava does not impair judgment and allows the drinker to remain the master of their conscience and reason. Kava's safety has been confirmed by the World Health Organization (2016), noting the long history of safe consumption in the Pacific as a remedy for various health problems.
Basal vs Lateral Roots: kavalactone content (active ingredient in kava) is higher In Lateral root than Basal. We use a 70% basal 30% lateral blend. Lateral roots alone are usually too strong for daily consumption.
Vanuatu is often considered the #1 kava exporter in the world because it has an 8%-12% potency vs the kavalactone content of kava from other areas; for example, kava found in Fiji typically has a potency of 6%-9% kavalactones.
Additionally, the effects of Vanuatu kava are generally more euphoric and relaxing than other regions, even when the strength is comparable.
Noble vs. Tudei Kava: Tudei kava is typically stronger and has more toxicity than Noble kava and is not considered safe for daily consumption. After consuming Tudei kava, you may wake up with a "kava hangover” due to the toxicity / stem or branches being present (anything that grows above the ground is toxic for human consumption and can result in unwanted side effects) We have a commitment to exclusively sell and serve Noble kava here at Pause…™
